The Today programme was making the point this morning that Michael Foot managed to hold Crewe and Nantwich despite the 1983 Labour Party Manifesto being labelled as the longest political suicide note in history by Gerald Kaufman. One wonders what Brown's epithet will be after the Crewe and Nantwich debacle?
