On this day

In 1960 the farthing ceased to be legal tender. I was 4 at the time so don't remember the coins but I do remember that people talked about them affectionately.

I will be aiming to do a daily post on these lines as they given in my new desk diary. H/T to Free Market Fairy Tales who has been doing "On this day" for much longer than I and with more subjects
