I thought it was going reasonably until he started talking about giving us our money (taxes) back.
FFS, when will they learn we don't want any taxes given back - we don't want them taken in the first place.

Cameron on Radio 5
I caught part of the programme with him being interviewed on Radio 5 this morning and was reasonably impressed. I still think he his trying to out Blair Blair instead of developing his own style and personality, but he is growing in to the job.
I was quite impressed that he refused to make himself a hostage to fortune by making rash pledges now, even on soft topics like reintroducing the 10p tax rate. I missed the bit when he took EU comments and would be interested to know how he got on in that section, although I suspect he was quite woolly.
Although I have voted Tory most of my life and even held my nose in 1997 and voted for them I was getting disillusioned with them, I still am though, but I might change my mind if he continues to show promise. I also have a good Tory MP in David Liddington, which also sways me that way. Still, a long time to go and lats of water and bridges as they say.

David Davis
I used to have a low opinion of David Davis, rightly or wrongly he came across as one of the worst types of "hang 'em and flog 'em" types appealing to the basest instincts of the population. Over the past couple of years he has moderated and started to come across as well balanced, well briefed and moderate. This was undone in one fell swoop when I watched Panorama last night.
During a discussion on 24 hour drinking and cheap alcohol he implied that the Government should change competition law so that supermarkets can collude to keep prices up. What sort of economic madness is this coming from a Tory? Doesn't he have a sense of history? Its not that long since we had economic chaos with Governments trying to impose price controls which led to strikes and further economic chaos.
Its a sad day when a senior Tory is advocating controls on a free market.
